Our approach
Offllm is designed to run AI models on your device. Conversations and downloaded models are stored locally on your iPhone. We do not operate a cloud AI service for your chats.
Diagnostics
Offllm uses Sentry to receive crash reports and technical diagnostics so we can diagnose failures. The October 2026 App Review update removes chat text, tool inputs, and network request URLs from automatic diagnostics and disables automatic network performance tracing. Remaining diagnostics can include app/build and device/OS information, model identifiers, tool names, message counts, and error types. Older builds may include technical logs, tool inputs, and up to ten recent chat messages truncated to 200 characters each. Sentry processes diagnostics on our behalf; it is not the app's chat AI provider.
Issue reports
If you choose to send an issue report from the app, the report includes the description you write, your current conversation, app logs, and device/model information. It is sent to Sentry or, for eligible internal builds, to a private GitHub repository. The app tells you about this before you send the report.
Information we do not collect
We do not sell personal information, run advertising, or require an account for local chat. Your conversations are not sent to us as part of ordinary model use.
Optional Web Search and third-party AI
Local chat inference does not use a cloud AI service. Optional Web Search is different: it sends a search query to Tavily (AlphaAI Technologies Inc.) at api.tavily.com to retrieve web results and a synthesized AI answer. The query may contain personal information from your request. Tavily also receives your IP address and normal network request information. Offllm does not attach your full conversation, documents, or photos to this search request; information included in the query itself is still shared.
In the latest App Review update, Offllm asks for informed permission once, before the first search. The “Allow online AI search?” screen shows the first query, identifies Tavily and its purpose, explains the data and processing, and explicitly covers future search queries. “Allow Web Search with Tavily” saves permission on your device across app restarts. Previously enabled tool settings do not count as consent. You can revoke permission under Settings > Web Search Privacy; the next search then asks again. Revocation cannot recall data already sent. Declining, dismissing, or cancelling before approval sends no search request; local chat remains available. First-time background searches without a visible permission screen are refused. Once approved, future searches do not require another prompt.
Tavily and its third-party AI providers may process, analyze, and retain submitted queries and generated answers, including to improve or train AI, as described in Tavily's Privacy Policy and Terms. Offllm does not promise zero retention or no training by these providers. Queries generated from your requests may contain personal information. Review the disclosure and these policies before allowing future searches.
Earlier builds with per-query consent require approval before each search instead. In older builds without a consent screen, disable Web Search in Settings if you do not want queries sent.
Apple Home automation
The optional Apple Home tool uses HomeKit only to list controllable home accessories, read power/brightness, and turn lights or switches on/off or change brightness when you ask. It is disabled until you enable it and grant Apple's Home permission. It does not access camera feeds. Apple Home control does not require Tavily or another cloud AI service. HomeKit data is not used for advertising, marketing, or use-based data mining.
Other optional network features
When you request online information, web fetching sends a URL and normal network metadata to the requested website; stock lookup sends the ticker symbol to Yahoo Finance; weather sends coordinates to Open-Meteo; directions use Apple's Maps services. Custom JavaScript tools can send requests to destinations specified by their code. These external services receive the information needed for the requested operation and process it under their own policies. Review custom tool code before enabling it. Turning off online tools does not prevent local model inference.
Purchases
The optional Offllm Pro one-time purchase is handled by Apple. We do not receive your payment details.
Children
Offllm is not directed to children under the age required to consent to digital services in their country.
